In line with Happy World Meal Gate’s untiring and all – encompassing vision of empowering people to meet their basic needs, our media crew recently visited HWMG’s food collection outlet at Women Development Centre, Agege in Lagos State.
The food collection centre is the meeting point where registered customers gather every week to take delivery of their food items they hitherto ordered online.
The food items usually includes but not limited to bags of rice, semovita, sugar, noodles, cereals, cocoa beverages, milk, groundnut oil, pasta and tomato paste.
A first timer to the centre wouldn’t be blamed for thinking it’s one of the popular markets littered across Lagos.
As expected, it was a beehive of activities coupled with a large turnout of people highly expectant of receiving their food items. The scorching sun didn’t deter them one bit.
Equally parked in clusters, were a number of heavy duty haulage trucks filled to the brim with hundreds of bags and cartons of food items being hastily offloaded by agile young men.
Our crew spoke to a cross section of the excited crowd of customers who extolled the novelty of Happy World Meal Gate’s compensation plan, suggested ways for better service delivery; while many others encouraged the conveners not to rest on their oars in empowering Nigerians to feed themselves, especially in the midst of a downturn in the economy.
Indeed, these photo-ops taken at the event, say more than a thousand words!
