Prayer: Learning to pray

Prayer can be a herculean task to many Christians, especially those struggling to keep up with their Christian faith. Most times when they try to say a prayer their minds end up wondering far off.

Sometimes, to lustful thoughts. Other times, to trivial things like where they will be hanging out with friends the next minute. Worse still, to an unfinished business transaction of the previous day.

In any case, believers who are struggling should not shy away from prayer as the importance can not be over emphasized in our journey through life. The older we grow the more we need to draw closer to God, and this can not happen except through constant prayer.

Therefore, it is important as a believer and follower of the Gospel of Christ not to forsake the company of his brethren, as this would strengthen his faith in God on a daily basis.

The book of Mark tells us in chapter 11:24 thus: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Also the bible tells us in Jeremiah 29:12-13, “Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you. You will seek me, and you will find me because you will seek me with all you heart.”

From the above scripture chapters, we see that to seek God we must go through prayer, else we will continue to search for him in vain.
